Colorful tornado

Tornado 1 of 1, originally uploaded by Septguy.

It was a warm but beautiful day in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Riding a ski lift to the ridge top I passed this carnival ride and the colors were so dramatic, it had to be captured. I wondered what inspired the artist to create this on a carnival ride.

Light and shadows

Conemara Ireland.jpg, originally uploaded by Septguy.

The brillance of the day had to be experienced. The patterns of light created by the clouds moving slowly held the viewers attention.

Sunrays

I was in Ireland almost one year ago this week. Driving in the Conemara area was one of the most beautiful drives I've made, even with learning to drive on the lefft side. The brilliance of the colors and light variations were striking.

Sparkling light

it was early spring, there was a crispness in the air in the early morning. Walking out onto the deck, surrounded by the bare branches of the trees at my eye level, the light on the droplets of water sparkled all around me. I enjoyed their beauty.

The art outdoors

It's hot here, a typical August. Last fall the temperature was much cooler, so it's nice to be reminded of the coming season change.

Movement and light

Raleigh Bike Race 25 of 38, originally uploaded by Septguy.

Some 100 plus bikers were participating in the race. It was a warm early evening and the light was fading. The turns were quick and to the eye the individual bikers even started to blur together. The pack to the left seemed to be setting themselves up to dive into the turn to the right.
